I was very pleased to be invited to the grand opening of Thomas Sabo and media launch of their African Colours SS 17 collection showcased by Chris Jaftha, Zuraida Jardine and Danine Naidoo. This collection heralds the arrival of vibrant colours, patterns and shapes of Africa into the Thomas Sabo design language. The pendants, earrings, necklaces and rings from the African range have a strong graphic flair as a result of their innovative layering technique.

Caught admiring all the beautiful pieces from the African Colours collection that were not just inspired by Africa but also by emotions.
My dear friend Nabilah (lushxlavish) accompanied me to the opening and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and got up to our usual behaviour which involves taking tons of selfies, sharing laughs and networking.
Danine, Chris and Zuraida hosted a lucky draw and guests were able to win beautiful pieces of jewellery courtesy of Thomas Sabo.
I chose to try on some of my favourite pieces which included:
- The REBEL SPIRIT CHRONO Mesh Rosé timepiece – With the trend combination of rose gold-coloured stainless steel and black sunray finish dial, this watch is guaranteed to please all lovers of stylish design. The crown featuring black onyx adds additional expressiveness.
- Snake ring – crafted from blackened 925 Sterling silver with a black zirconia embellishment, the exotic snake motif is the new fashion icon of the season.
One of the pieces from the African Colours collection that stole my heart is the lion’s head pendant with detailed graphic patterning personifies strength, courage and self-assurance and is crafted in sterling silver.
